LISBON LANGUAGE CAFÉ TEACHER
My name is Melissa Arraiol. I´m from Madeira Island, teaching Portuguese has been my passion ever since I can remember. I graduated with a BSc degree in Cultural Sciences from Universidade da Madeira.
In 2012 I travelled to the Czech Republic during my ERASMUS exchange programme and fell in love with the experience of trying to teach Portuguese to my classmates.
I moved to Lisbon in 2015 to pursue an MSc in Portuguese as a Foreign Language from Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa.
In 2017 I did volunteer work as a Teacher for JRS Portugal, I taught classes to Syrian refugees on how to speak Portuguese so they could more easily fit into the Portuguese environment.
I have been working as a Portuguese teacher at Lisbon Language Café since January 2018, I have been loving the experience so far as I have been given the freedom to teach using methods which I believe are the most effective and , so far , have shown the best results with students I have taught.
